The thought that the man of sin, the son of perdition could be ministering amidst the body of Christ in our day just doesn’t connect with most believers. It is a thought far too removed from what we understand church to be. To put it bluntly and in a language that is more popular with most Christians, what others and I are now saying is that Antichrist is in the temple.
That vast majority of churches along with the world’s most renowned bible teachers are still teaching that a new temple is coming, a temple in Israel, in which a wicked world leader will place himself and wreak desolation upon the people of God.
Most are confounded at the thought. How can it be that a Christian can be the “man of sin, the son of perdition” aka Antichrist? Well as plainly as I can say it, Christ told us it would be this way, but for some reason we cannot bring ourselves to believe it. If you recall Paul’s writings on this subject, this revealing of the man of sin is being fulfilled according to the mystery of iniquity.
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 2 Thessalonians 2:7
It is according to the mystery of iniquity. I want you to hold that thought for a moment as we jump to the words of Christ concerning the Church.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Ye that work iniquity – the mystery of iniquity being fulfilled, even as John penned “Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, this is how we know it is the last hour“
Yes ministers of the Christian church they will be, calling Him Lord, Lord, having performed all manner of miracles and signs and wonders in His name. But they were against Christ, opposed to His fathers will, rebels to the end.
MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord! These are the son’s of perdition. aka Antichrist in the temple.
