A Welcome to Flee the Wrath
A weblog dedicated to assisting the faithful flee this world as they pursue the righteousness found only in Christ Jesus.
If you have read the novel, Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan, you will be familiar with the words which make up the title of this weblog “Flee the wrath to come”
The Bunyan novel is a biblical allegory who’s main character Christian, is seeking guidance as to how he can escape his damnable condition and the coming destruction of the city, in which he and his whole household dwell.
At the outset of Christian’s journey he meets Evangelist, who hands him a scroll with the inscribed words “flee the wrath to come”
So begins Christian’s journey as he seeks to escape the city of destruction and make his way to the city of safety, the Celestial City.
Though you will not find Christ in the gospel accounts using these exact words “flee the wrath to come” you will most assuredly will find Christ compelling his followers to flee the ways of the world, to forsake the sinful, selfish man and strive (agonize) to enter into eternal life… for the gate is narrow” Luke 13:24
As in Bunyans allegory and Christs compulsion, the road to the celestial city, is a life journey. It requires first and foremost that one forsake the things of the world (city of destruction), and flee from them, as we journey down the narrow path which leads to eternal life.
The term “flee the wrath” was also used by John the Baptist when preaching in the wilderness, as a prelude to Christ’s ministry. John uses the following words addressing the church leaders of his day, the scribes and pharicees. “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee the coming wrath”
This message to flee, to escape, to come out of, is very much a message that preceded a coming judgment. This theme continues throughout the bible, all the way to the very end of the church age, where in Revelation Chapter 18 we read the following “And I heard a voice call out from heaven saying “come out of her my people, lest you share in her sorrows”
In this instance the message to come out of, or flee her, pre-cedes the destruction of Babylon the great, and the soon return of Christ.
Failure to come out of this “Babylon the great” will render to the unbeliever, or disobedient one, a portion of the wrath of God.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
I believe the trump has sounded, it’ s time for us to awake from our slumber. If we confess to be Christs’ then we must flee the wrath that is to come, and be found in Him.

The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
