In the following post I am seeking to explain how and why I believe much of what we would call the Christian church has departed from the truth, and fallen into apostasy. This won’t be too long a post and in fact the error which I’m alluding to can be summed up in few words. I do feel however that it is important for people to see this as they seek to live righteously in Christ.
Who would have believed such a thing, that God would reveal in these last days the profound mystery which encompasses a vast number of denominational churches. Like John of Revelation who was amazed as he beheld the vision of the harlot. I can scarcely believe it myself, but such is the promise to this generation according to Paul’s doctrine, the revealing of the man of sin, the son of perdition.
Most church goers are quite happy to point out the sins and harlotry of the Catholic church, and to be sure they are many. But my supposition is far more widespread and finds it’s foundation primarily through my own journey in the Charismatic Pentecostal movement, and that which I see and hear preached through the various forms of modern media.
The thought that I could propose such a widespread falling away, beyond the oft criticized Catholic churches, sounds like the height of arrogance on my part. Yet the simple and profound reality is that the rebellion must be fulfilled prior to the return of the Lord, according to that which was written for our admonition. There must be, it is written, an apostasy. Then following on from this event, Paul tells us that the “man of sin” must be revealed, then the Lord will come.
Men devoid of God, the heathen as we might call them have always been rebellious, they have a beastly nature and little understanding of the things of God. The apostasy passage does not speak of the world and the lost. The falling away is not for them, they never did obtain anything to which they can now fall away. The rebellion/falling away spoken of is the church at large. It is a falling away from a place of truth.
The fulfillment of the falling away or apostasy spoken of by the prophets and apostles manifests in the temple of God. Yes, in what I would loosely term, the church at large. And this is the AMAZING part. This rebellion is fulfilled in such a way that the Lord God Almighty is no longer the head, but the man of sin/lawlessness is firmly seated in the temple and rules according to self will, preaching another gospel. This man of sin/lawlessness and his objectives will take precedent over the will of God, the truth of His Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Hence, He proclaims himself to be as God by virtue of the fact that man’s will is exalted above all.
Ezekiel 22:25There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. 26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
For those who are of the world and playing church, this scenario sounds like an unreal supposition. It does not compute that the devil can be in the detail, the temple, the Christian church. It seems too far removed from our reasoning, and this is because we do not hear or want to believe what Christ taught. Specifically that the tares and wheat would grow together until the end of the age. The mainstream churches by and large refuse to teach along these lines, and shudder at the thought that this all happens in our own backyard. This is all way too profoundly challenging for them and far too close to home. What, that we might be deceived! That there might be wolves amongst us! In fact I would venture to say that it is probably rare for a mainstream church to even venture in to these waters. Way too murky!
Yet we are assured that this falling away and revealing of the man of sin is in accordance with the nature of the day as prophesied. It is in accordance with a strong delusion, sent by an indignant God who has grown weary of our religious games and harlotry. And is also confirmed by Christ’s words to a materially rich and spiritually needy Western church.
2 Thessalonians 2:11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie.
Revelation 3:16 Because you are neither hot nor cold I will spew you from My mouth.
This man of lawlessness/son of perdition referred to in Paul’s text is a corporate man, not an individual. Even as the term “man of god” represents many, so too, the “man of sin” represents many. In the same way that Judas was one of the twelve, a devil, and also referred to as the son of perdition. The end time corporate son of perdition is of the devil. In like fashion, the disciples had no idea that Judas was the son of perdition, it remained hidden from their eyes until the final days of Christ’s earthly ministry. So too, the final son of perdition remains a mystery until the final days of the body of Christ upon the earth.
I ask myself how it can be that much of the church as we know it, the leadership of the visible denominational churches, mainstream Christianity can have arrived at a place where the man of lawlessness, the son of perdition, has been able to take his seat amidst the congregation of the Lord. To be sure he has. The son of perdition is firmly established in the temple and continues to sell out the Saviour for earthly gain. I shudder as I write this and realize how easily we err when our motivation is for the things of the world. When we are motivated to build church as compared to making disciples. How easy it is to neglect truth, sell the Saviour short as we seek something of this world and make a name for ourselves. Woe is me!
Furthermore it is a confounding thought for me, as one who has been raised through the modern charismatic church system. I look at all of this and am in wonder. Yet there can be little doubt that this is the day in which the mystery of iniquity is fulfilled, and the man of sin is seated and firmly established in the temple of God, according to the apostle Paul’s prophecy.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for [that day will not come] until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessnessa is revealed, the son of perdition. 4He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
In seeking to understand what has happened here we will find a clear leading in Paul’s words. The key word in this verse, which motivates this revealing of the man of sin, can be found in one word “rebellion” From the place of rebellion, satan is able to fulfill his ambition.
You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. Isaiah 14:13
The foundation of apostasy.
It became fairly obvious earlier on in my walk that certain foundational commands of the Lord concerning righteousness and discipleship were overlooked in most sermons and services. And it is this refusal to yield to Christ’s headship that opens the door to the schemes of the wicked one and his ultimate goal. Here are some examples of the more critical commandments that we so often overlook or ignore.
- So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:33 KJV)
- If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14)
- And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26-27 KJV)
- No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Matt 6:24 KJV)
- For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (Matt 16:25 KJV)
What is the overall context concerning these verses. It is “YOU CANNOT BE MY DISCIPLE” unless…….
We, the leadership of the church have in stark contrast to the Saviour told men that all can follow Him regardless of circumstances. In this way we have built a harlot church. A church who can be in love with the things of the world and self directed. This is a deceitful gospel and is opposed to what Christ taught. In this way the man of sin and his version of the gospel opposes God.
Why do we water the word down, alter it, lighten it, make it of no effect, you might ask? We do it for earthly gain; recognition, income, popularity, making a name for ourselves, pride…….and the list goes on. The leadership/son of perdition sell the Saviour short, betray His will and purposes in exchange for earthly gain. Even as Judas betrayed the Saviour for earthly gain.
I realize that the commandments I listed above may not be immediately received by the hearer, and may come in the course of time. But to neglect from teaching these His commandments as a foundational requirement to following Him is to pervert the gospel. The faith of Christ when applied to the life of a believer represents death to self – the man of sin, who was crucified with Christ. The modern gospel is now given over to everything but.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
In stark contrast to the gospel of our day, Christ told the rich young ruler that he could not be his disciple. Can you just stop and think upon that point for one moment. Christ allowed the young man to walk away. You cannot be my disciple young man, sorry! It is better that men hear the truth and be challenged by it, than to fool them with a lie.
Oh c’mon brother, you can keep it all and have Christ…REALLY? Jesus just wants you to blessed to be a blessing, C’mon your the kings kids, He wants the best for you bla, bla, bla. Actually He wanted to crucify you and now according to His loving kindness He has provided a substitute and given you understanding so that by faith you would crucify the old man, and all of the lusts that go with that.
And so too the foundations of a world wide apostasy from the truth of His word have rather humble beginnings. When ministers are accumulated into the church without observance to these foundational commands, there will come a generation who believe that they can follow Christ on their own terms. And with that comes a gospel that is man centred, worldly and devilish. The foundations for discipleship have been removed and the whole house is built on another foundation.
It is rebellion. It is man, supposing to be as God, declaring what is and what is not acceptable concerning salvation. It opposes the call to enter by the narrow gate. In this way the man of sin opposes and exalts himself against the knowledge of God.
These requirements of discipleship that the Saviour speaks of were not meant to be options which one can choose, or not. Though we may not immediately meet these requirements at the time of initial belief, and we should allow all men grace in coming to a knowledge of the truth. It ought to be the natural course of the faith, that these things continue to be taught and preached, of continuing obedience to His word, or otherwise we should acknowledge that we cannot be His disciple. He would not want us to be ignorant of these things brethren.
These commands were absolutes to which no man could follow Him, unless they obeyed. And this is to enter by the narrow gate.
This monumental end time apostasy all sound quite ridiculous until we remember that Christ made it plain that MANY would come in His name, who would lead MANY, astray. And that in the end, FEW would be chosen. And unless those days would be shortened, no flesh would be saved.
Quite simply, this rebellion, this revolt, this apostasy, is a rebellion against His word. A refusal to accept His word of truth, the known will of the Saviour. And what ought to have been ongoing steps of obedience to the will of the Almighty, has led us to a place in which the much of what we call mainstream Christianity is an object of horror. A denominational cesspool. And these are the days in to which Paul alluded men would be lovers of themselves, proud, boastful, lovers of money and so on. 2 Thessalonians.
The man of sin, the son of perdition is firmly established and seated in the temple.
The bottom line.
The final analysis according to my thinking, the reason why we did not earnestly seek the Lord, to keep and obey His commands is because we do not love Him. We love most everything else, and this to our shame. We love money, we love pleasure, we love the things of the world. The church has entered into a marriage of convenience. We have taken His name to ourselves, but refused, rejected and rebelled against His word. Now we are fallen far away…
Ultimately everything stands or falls according to the first commandment, that we should love the Lord our God with all of our heart, our mind, soul and strength, and our neighbour as ourself.
And it is according to these the greatest of commands that the end state of much of Christianity is revealed, in this tell all parable of Isaiah’s.
In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!” Isaiah 4:1
I believe that the seven women represent the fullness of the church system, even as Christ wrote to seven churches in Revelation. These seven women, the church have taken of Him that which seemed convenient, His name, His promise to cover our nakedness and shame. But resisted and refused to take upon ourselves His headship and His righteousness. We refused His word and hard heartedly rebelled, and continue to rebel against Him. This is the nature of the rebellion that gets us to this point.
In the end, according to the word, much of the church is known as a harlot. She wants to enter by the narrow gate, but lives and rides upon the back of the beast. And the reason she finds her strength in the beast/world is because the foundation to forsake the love of the world was ignored. She says she’s married to the Lord and want’s the righteousness that He can offer (let us be called by your name), but she does not want Him. She remains in rebellion to His headship (we will eat our own food, and provide our own clothes) which is exactly the place the visible church will arrive to before His coming. A lawless wife, in accordance with Isaiah’s prophecy.
When the lawless wife is revealed, the man of lawlessness is also revealed, the son of destruction.
BUT all is not lost, the promises are precious for those who escape and survive this apostasy. Read on from Isaiah’s prophecy as above and see what is said concerning that which remains, the branch of the Lord.
The Branch of the Lord
2In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel. 3Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem. 4The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirita of judgment and a spiritb of fire. 5Then the Lord will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over all the glory will be a canopy. 6It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.
As a final thought – In response to the question the disciples asked concerning the signs of His coming in Matthew 24, the Lords introductory response was this : Take heed that no man deceive you.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, strive to enter by the narrow gate. In doing this, you will flee the wrath that is to come.
It is truly the last days as mentioned in the Scriptures..and as the Lord says’ He is our only Teacher and that no man reveals this Truth unto us but His through his Spirit alone…the reason I quit attending church two months ago is that through studying his Word he reveals himself unto us the apostasy going on around us mainly comes from the corrupted teaching of the main stream churches..Truly again as the our Lord says (Mat 22:14) For many are called, but few are chosen.
Let us all prepare ourselves to be used by our Lord before his imminent return and found us doing what He expects us to do..Mat. 28:20
God Blessings is upon us..
In Christ,
Jemie
Thanks Tim. I will still be here and with you in Spirit. Let’s stay in touch and share some edifying things when we find them. Be blessed and stay strong in the Lord.
Thanks Pete, will keep in touch.
Take care.
Tim
Jemie,
It certainly seems as though the day of His coming is close at hand. I’ve had 4 people even this day who are all unrelated telling me that they sense the same thing.
You are quite right on the issue of the Lord being our teacher. And in this we see another significant way in which mainstream churches tend to make His word of no effect. Usurping His leading in the lives of His people.
I praise the Lord that it was made clear to me that I was not to go to bible school in order to gain a pastoral qualification. I can certainly see why now, though I did not at the time.
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city”
Cheers,
Tim
This is a sobering conclusion, Tim. Last weekend in our church I helped to lead a ladies retreat. Our theme was “Be Still and Know: Finding Rest in God.” Some of my dearest friends (and spiritual mentors) spoke at this retreat, and tried to help us all learn to LISTEN to the Spirit, to Hear His voice, to talk with Jesus, to just be in His presence and get to know Him better. To not give our laundry list of requests, but just to BE STILL. So many lifelong Christians have no idea how to hear His voice, how to just worship.
Knowing Jesus intimately (through the Word and the Spirit) is a basic foundational concept to Christianity, but one that is all but lost because too few actually know Him well enough to really love Him more than this world.
Thank you for all the energy, thoughts, and time you put into this blog. I have truly enjoyed reading, and it’s challenged me to live my faith more authentically.
Anna
“Hbr 10:24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Hbr 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ” and also in the Upper room discourse of the Gospel of John we are instructed to abide in the vine.
I came out of a confusing church background & became determined to seek & do the Will of the Father. I was led to understand where the Lord’s Supper had been stolen from the people & how the Lord had instituted the supper as a true means of grace. I had become confused about how to not forsake the assembly yet not to be a partaker in false worship systems. Now I don’t like commercialism in any church body as I believe it lends itself to error in the body; but I must say I can see how the sheep are starved for the body and blood of Christ in the Lord’s Supper as a mystical corporate entity. The deception in the world is so great that I feel most of us who are determined to navigate the mine field of lies would be, just as the bible warns, deceived if God did not shorten these days. I feel I’m being brought out of deception and warily tip-toe and pray that I hear His voice knowing that if I listen to Him that He’ll lead me into all truth. That’s why I referred to the abiding scripture. John 15:7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
I have been strengthened by the fellowship of the Supper which is the true meaning of fellowship, even the communion of the Saints. In the reformer’s zeal to disdain all things Catholic, they literally threw the baby out with the bath water! (Through the Sacraments of the Lord’s body and the baptism). We are strengthened through this fellowship of breaking of bread. If you study church history you’ll clearly see this is what the early church did; they broke bread together! It is the institution of the New Testament, the true food of the Body and Blood of Christ. Early church assemblies were accused of being cannibals because it was reported they were eating and drinking blood in their gatherings! The supper is for the sheep. We also must hear the preaching of the gospel as well. I hope you find this helpful and please don’t disregard it as doctrine but consider what I’m telling you here. The Church is the Body of Christ and is not divided but she’s not a commercialized whore either. Because of the gross error in the Catholic systems I couldn’t in good conscience become a “Roman Catholic” though I hungered for the fellowship of the supper. Then I found the Lutherans (LCMS)and have joined that fellowship. They understand the Real Presence of Christ in, with and under the bread and the wine. I encourage you to consider seriously what I’m telling you here. To miss the Lord’s supper is to miss the great mystery of our faith altogether. (ref: http://lcmssermons.com/index.php?sn=2187 . It’s a pretty decent condensed explanation of what I’ve awkwardly been trying to say.)May we all be found worthy to stand before our Lord on that day.
have just briefly scanned over this post of yours and printed it to study on. about 3 months ago i began to feel very sad during services at church, though a long time member, to the point that i stopped attending though i miss the fellowship. agreed that the church has lost its way but what about the command not to forsake assembling? there are some in that church that are seeking truth. we are in strange and perilous times.
Jane,
Thanks for your comment. I know that people will read into the post that I may be encouraging one to forsake the assembly of the believers. That is not my intention. I think that it is important to continue to fellowship, but the bottom line is believers in this day need to be mindful that so much of what seems to be taught in our day has been tainted, like the leaven of the pharisees, which eventually works it’s way through the whole loaf.
This is a time to seek the Lord, to know His word and to know Him. It is a time which those who are half hearted about their faith, half hearted about righteousness, lukewarm in their love for God, may well fall into the snare which God Himself allows ” a strong delusion” a “working of error”. Please if at all possible seek out believers who are zealous for truth, who earnestly love the Lord, and who will help you watch over your soul. I am sure there are many out there who understand the nature of our day. Above all, do not let your love grow cold.
Yes I agree, these are strange and perilous times.
Cheers,
Tim
Hi m.r.
I imagine that some may think that I’m suggesting we forsake the assembling of the saints. This is certainly not what I’m suggesting. I still attend a denominational church and we do still partake of the Lord’s supper. Though if honest I would say this was done in a sense of long suffering.
We ought not be surprised to see so many in the church in travail in this day. Many like you who see this as a minefield to which one must navigate their way through. I hope that this post will not discourage, but rather encourage the believer to continue in the faith, knowing that much of the church is in travail, and that the Lord knows full well what is going on. Better still, that through all of this He is refining and preparing His people.
I think it wonderful that you are finding strength through the fellowship of the Lord supper in your church. I’ll take some time to look at your link.
Tim.
Anna,
My hope is that this post is not too discouraging, but rather an encouragement to walk worthily of our calling. Thanks again for your comments. If there was a significant change in my walk since posting to this blog it would be that I recognize the need to live our faith in an authentic fashion. I’m thankful that I may have born that out in some fashion.
Tim
Sorry that you decided to stop. I have been out the loop with your blog for a few months.
I very much like you have found that I have little to say anymore about anything. Maybe this is the time to be silent.
In Jesus
Tim,
I have just gone thru a period where I felt like I just couldn’t keep going, that the mess of this world was too much. But Soon I was able to identify what was really going on. It seemed too hard to do – it was overwhelming. It was a lack of faith. I could see that I [perhaps we all ] am/are charged with waking up these multitudes from their drunken slumber to shine the light and get them out of Babylon- to stop the abominations [the harlot for wages preachers] from feeding off them anymore.
It may not happen in our lifetime but the bible promises that God will silence Babylon!!!!
Jer 51:55 we just have to do our part reading and relating the book of Jeremiah to Jesus – the rock, and throwing into the Euphrates -n the river that feeds Babylon.
Since then I noticed Is 9 says that Jesus rule on the throne of David is eternal – Isn’t David’s throne here on earth. I think this is telling us not to look for his coming back to earth!
Perhaps this will help:

May your Faith sustain you!! God Bless

Tim,
I may have this wrong, but I think that what we have been doing on our Web Pages has been a from of real communion. A time for true seekers to sit around the “spiritual table” the word and spirit of Christ – to seek and share together. I think we are also called to find fellow seekers in our area who can discern good and evil, to actually physically seek and share, at real meals. I still think that God is honoring this blogging seeking and sharing. This communion of the blog – y Your thoughts???
God Bless
Glenn
Hi Deborah,
Thanks for your thoughts. I do really feel as though I have said enough for now. I am also fearful of saying too much.
I do hope to post again in the future. Take care, these are interesting days….
Cheers,
Tim
Tim
I really did get a lot out of what you have said here, in fact it lines up with what God has shown me.
The problem of where to fellowship has always been a problem to those who want to follow Jesus the true shepherd because His flock is a little flock.
Luke 12:32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
The reason it is a little flock is that,
Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!
This indeed is a time of testing,
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will become cold.
Anyone who is in fellowship with the Father and the Son will feel their own unworthiness and although they speak out against sin, they know in their heart that but for the Grace of God there go I.
Tim keep giving out the light that God gives you, it is for Gods glory that we all give out the light He has put in us.
Jesus said “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Mat 5:15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the grain-measure, but on a lamp stand. And it gives light to all who are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.
Will be in touch soon
Bruce
Glenn,
I agree that our blogs are a form of spiritual communion and it has been a great experience. I hope to get back to writing again soon.
I am however leaving the fellowship of the online saints to pursue other things for a season.
Bless you and may He grant you understanding concerning those things which you set your heart to know.
Cheers,
Tim
Bruce,
Thanks for the encouragement. I am still thinking about the many issues that I continue to come up against and hope to write again soon.
I don’t think that I have experienced a more challenging time, concerning my faith, the faith, and the church.
Look forward to talking again soon.
Cheers,
Tim
All preachers are teaching about sin but do not distinguish it in if they doing it as well. Even us, we preach about but we are practicing it and wandering from faith.
The man of sin can be anybody, even our very self if we wander from the truth and in faith. They are people who replaced God’s grace into immorality, preaching lies.
Below is written in the revelation said, the beast will hate the prostitute. If are saying that the churches is the prostitute, then who is the beast? So it can anybody… we have to watch ourselves closely.
The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. Rev. 17
Emilio,
I agree that we all have a measure of sin, and none of us are too proud to speak of it in public, especially from a pulpit. Everyday we are faced with choices and I am sure that it would be ridiculous to say that we do not sin. But Christ will bare our sin when taken to him in faith and repentance. Especially with a contrite and humble heart.
But the issue I think that Paul is alluding to in his text concerning the falling away, and the revealing of the man of sin, is different.
It is a proud and self willed approach to the kingdom of heaven. The man of sin exalts his will in place of the Almighty “sitting in the temple, proclaiming himself to be as God”
One way that I see this manifesting in many churches today is the profound ease with which self labelled prophets and preachers will say “God told me” or “thus sayeth the Lord” or “I have a word from God”
Maybe He did speak to them. It just seems to have been in plague proportions in recent years. And when this god does speak to them it is rarely a personal rebuke or encouragement to mourn over ones sin, but rather proud and boastful proclamations concerning what God will do. Usually ministering to the flesh. “yes the Lord says He is going to give you increase” “The Lord says that He is going to exalt you amongst the nations” so on and so forth.
The Beast will hate the harlot, and and make her desolate and naked. You will find very similar words used in Ezekiel and Hosea, and they are always directed toward the people whom God called forth to Himself.
The harlot clothes herself, NOT with the righteousness of Christ, but with the things of the world (she finds her strength atop the Beast). In saying that the Beast will strip her naked, would indicate that those things which the harlot had trusted and valued and taken their ease in, shall be taken from them.
i.e. The Lukewarm church trusts in her wealth etc, and Christ will now spew them from His mouth. In a sense abandoning them to fiery trials in the hope that they might repent.
Perhaps if this goes on for much longer we may even see Islam being raised up in the Western Lukewarm nations, and this will be literal fire and trouble for many…..too early to say for sure.
Furthermore in terms of being stripped naked, the cash rich Western Harlot Churches, along with many others, are about to find themselves propelled into a financial apocalypse which will reveal the the true motives and intents of the establishment/heart.
Finally, we are all able to fall into harlotry, and to suppose that we cannot may be a little proud. You are quite correct, we do have to watch ourselves closely, and be wise, for the the days are evil.
Bless you ,
Tim
Thank you Tim, I believe that the man of sin is not an individual, all who causes sin and make his brothers stumble because of his doing. But we all have our own belief about this matter.
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among
you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears. Ac. 20:28-31
He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is
taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 2Th. 2:4-8
This is the same warning Paul said to the Ephesians and to the Thessalonians, but he used a different form of speech but the meaning is the same. Because he knew for a time the truth will be distorted and the foreigners or uncircumcised hearts will replace the shepherds. Peter and Jude also mentioned them and not a single person…
Peter said, they are the false teachers, brute beasts and many will follow their shameful ways. Jude refer them as dreamers, unreasoning animals, clouds without rain, wild waves and so on….
Lk. 17:1 Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. Lk. 17:2 It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied round his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.
Mk. 14:21 The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”
The Lord is not referring to Judas alone..
I would add that much of the church has forsaken the true sabbath. So important to God, he even kept it when creating the Earth, who are we to look at nonspecific nuances in the new testament as a justification to omit a commandment.
nicely done. the will of god has been hijacked and it is indeed at times discouraging to know this is…yet those of us aware try to keep (as best we can) our spirits up and allow the real will of the Father to guide us.
